Recently, Penrith Council held a special ceremony to officially name the oval at Lord Sheffield Circuit in honour of the late Ron Mulock AO.

Mr Mulock  was a Penrith icon, someone who had genuine concern for ordinary people and who was a passionate advocate for social justice and for Western Sydney. Mr Mulock passed away in 2014 at age 84.

At the ceremony to name the oval, Mr Mulock’s son Mark said his father had a motto: “If it’s good for Penrith, then do it”.
